Voice Mail Services
Voice Mail works like an answering machine, only it's smarter, it's more convenient and lightening-proof. You'll never miss another call, whether you're away from home, the office, or just choose not to be interrupted. And if you're on the phone when someone calls, your voice mailbox automatically answers the second call - no busy signals, no mixed messages. And - a special dial tone lets you know you have a message waiting. All Voice Mail services provide: date, time of call, remote access, help prompts and a built-in tutorial to assist you.
Activating your Voice Mailbox:
Voice Mail is used in conjunction with two additional features: Call Forward Busy and Call Forward No Answer. These features forward your call to the Voice Mail number when you are on, or you are unable to answer the phone.
Setting up your Voice Mailbox:
Your Voice Mailbox is setup with a default greeting, to record your own:
1. Dial 637-7000 from your phone.
2. Follow instructions to record your greeting.
3. Follow instructions to setup password.
Retrieving your Messages:
From Home:
1. Lift your receiver and listen for a stutter dial tone.
2. Dial 637-7000.
3. Enter your password.
4. Press 1 to play your messages.
5. Follow prompts for saving and deleting messages.
6. To exit Voice Mail, hang up.
Away from home:
1. Dial 637-7000.
2. Enter your phone number.
3. Follow steps 3-6.
Voice Mail for Residential and Small Business Customers

Call Forward Busy
When your line is busy, your callers can reach Voice Mail.
To turn on:
1. Lift receiver and listen for dial tone.
2. Dial *90, (1190 from a rotary phone.)
3. To forward to Voice Mail, dial 637-7000.
4. When the call is answered, your Call Forward Busy in in effect.
To turn off:
1. Lift receiver and listen for dial tone.
2. Dial *91 (1191 from a rotary phone.)
3. Listen for confirmation tone, then hang up. Your Call Forward Busy is off.
Call Forward No Answer
If you can't get to the phone, you can be sure that your calls won't go unanswered.
To turn on:
1. Lift receive and listen for dial tone.
2. Press *92 (1192) from a rotary phone).
3. Dial the number of rings (2-9) to be allowed before the call is forwarded.
4. To forward to Voice Mail, dial 637-7000.
5. When the call is answered, your Call Forward is in effect.
To turn off:
1. Lift receiver and listen for dial tone.
2. Press *93 (1193 from a rotary phone).
3. Listen for confirmation tone then hang up. Your Call Forward No Answer
is now "off."
Troubleshooting
If you feel that your calls are not being answered while you are on the phone, or are not being answered after the correct number of rings, use the appropriate code to deactivate your Call Forward Busy/No Answer. Then follow the instructions to re activate the feature.
